The subject matters for each portrait are activists, artists and healers that have contributed to their community and surrounding Bay Area. Each member was asked to choose a plant or animal which served as a guide or teacher for them. Photographic portraits were taken of each member and then manipulated digitally through illustrator and photoshop.

Design Process

Portraits were first photographed, manipulated on Photoshop, then hand painted for the final print. All pieces were printed on FSC Maple wood on 24”x30” panels, and then applied on greeting cards and posters in various sizes. Final series were then shown at various galleries and festivals across Northern Bay Area such as Lightening in a Bottle, Gem and Jam Festival and The Haven Underground (Nevada City).
